Week 18

We wanted to start May with introducing our new weekday openings, finally adding Thursdays.
Unfortunately, we will have to postpone that announcement by another week. We will be short staffed in the kitchen for the whole week due to sickness, we will not be able to produce enough.

But, because Sunday is Mother's Day, we still wanted to offer a special dessert for the occasion. With Nawal, we created a super light Pavlova, filled with a vanilla pastry cream and Chantilly, but also gariguettes Strawberries and basil.
No, it is not a joke, we will turn the basil into a pesto (without the cheese, nor salt and pepper), using some tasty almonds and a touch of lime juice to give a bit more balance to the whole dessert.

Please note that because we will be shortstaffed this week, the pavlovas will only be available after noon on Saturdays.

After a quiet start of the day, Koningsdag ended up being a quite successful day. It was funny to hear some people mentionning last year's madness, dreading we would already be sold-out because they did not see a line outside.
Last year was also a very particular day as all bars and restaurants were closed, but this time, we were better equipped to serve everyone who came inside the shop and did not ran out of product before closing. Ready for next year :)

(after 12 for pavlova pick up)
- Pre-order your treats for Saturday is highly recommended.
- Make sure you come at the right time based on your time slot, not earlier. But no worries if you are a bit late.
- Two lines are available : one for Pick-up on Churchill-laan, one for walk-ins on Maasstraat.
